BROKEN PLANET SHOW Comes to NYC with Blue Man Group Veteran Callum Grant
International Emmy-nominated performance artist Callum Grant will bring BROKEN PLANET SHOW to New York City for a one-night-only performance on May 28.
On May 28 at 7:00 p.m., the Brooklyn Comedy Collective hosted Grant’s unique blend of clowning, cabaret, live-looped music, and high-energy audience participation. Described as “part absurd cabaret, part apocalypse party, part audience-fuelled fever dream,” the show imagines God returning from holiday to find a divided humanity - with the only solution being a Broken Planet Show.
Grant, known for nearly two decades as a leading performer, writer, and creative collaborator with Blue Man Group and his current role as creative lead and performer for the Banana Ball drumline, plays multiple characters throughout the evening. The production mixes improvisation, interactive sequences, surreal theatrical imagery (including giant dancing babies and ritualistic comedy), and moments of genuine emotional sincerity.
The show previously earned praise at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for its interactivity and improvisational spirit. The Brooklyn premiere served as a warm-up for its upcoming return to Edinburgh.
This lively, crowd-shaped theatrical experience continues Grant’s tradition of boundary-pushing live performance that’s equal parts hilarious, chaotic, and heartfelt. Perfect for fans of inventive comedy and physical theater.
